What makes a good hoe?

The hoe I like best is the English hoe. Not sure if that's the proper name for it but it's what I've always heard it called. It looks like a stirrup on the end of a hoe handle. Requires least effort to work of any hoe I've used.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Never used one. I need to post a pic of the hoes I made last week. They are really quite good. I think I'm going to give them to some of the gardeners in the area and see what they think. Don't have nothing in them but a little time.
