One old timer told me it was used to make terraces...
Its yard art here. I drug it outta the pasture years ago. Figured it was another way for a cow to tempt fate... lol

Read the link in Silver's post on how they worked. Interesting idea. When I looked at Fence's picture I didn't realize the auger was that short. I thought somebody had turned it into the ground to hold the implement upright.

There are some good videos on youtube of them in action. Never would have thought that auger could sling dirt like that.

One of those attachments that if you need it there is nothing like it but you just don't need it very often and not really good for anything else. A neat find though.
