What is the most essential nutrient in animal feeding and health?

A. Hay
B. Grain
C. Water
D. Mineral

uuh, oh, I dont know, maybe WATER!

Thats the only thing on that list a cow cant actualy survive without.

But none of those are really nutrients. Except for the water they're all made up of multiple nutrients.

dun

Answer: C. According to Tony Rickard, dairy specialist, University of Missouri Extension, water is the most important nutrient. Animals may lose nearly all the fat and about one-half the protein of the body and survive but a loss of about one-tenth of the water from the body means death.

well, without water there would be no hay or grain. and minerals arent nutrients, they are minerals. Water is the only nutrient listed. therefor, though i want to aswer B. Grain just to see what would happen i am forced to go with C. Water. Thats my final answer, Regis.

( i was always taught that water IS a nutrient )

Water is the most important and usually not managed well.
Protein, energy (carbohydrates & fats), minerals, vitamins, water are all essential nutrients needed in varying quantities.
