Looks like an extremely long bale spear.... had a friend that had one that he had on the back of his pickup like that... so he could take a bale of hay to pasture that was a distance from his house and not drive his tractor on the road... but it was not that long.... ????

Ya a bunch of people have them but the normal spear size. I can't imagine any thing in that system holding up to two bales?

Me either.... UNLESS ... they take one bale and set it down to pull the spear part way out... then lift it to reach further away from the truck to set it out somewhere???? I cannot imagine it would hold 2 bales... even smaller 4x5 bales or something... that is too much weight to try to carry on that spear... Strange....

Looks like a gin pole. Handy for field dressing deer this time of year, among other things. Same principal of operation as a bed spear.

It's got the little spikes for bales. Thought maybe it had a pipe slipped over the big spear to make a lifting device like yall are saying, but I can't see sections or any thing. It's got a bolt or some thing welded on the end.

Idk, looks sketchy. Might hold a deer ok but kuxh else would.make me nervous. Pole truck have cables and things for support and stability. It's got a twist in it like it's gotten a little out of balance on him before.

Looks like a boom pole slid over the center pipe on the spear to me, probably used for raising a deer as mentioned in previous comments.
