Is it all the grain a steer can eat? Can I use it with my 4-H beef steer? THANKS

You are correct, full feed IS all the animal can eat - BUT - you must attain this lever VERY SLOWLY. You cannot just dump grain in front of him, if he has been limited to a certain amount. And he still needs hay to keep his rumen working properly. My husband always said you can increase the amount fed by 1% of animals body weight, every 7 days. It takes 7 days for the rumen to adjust. BE CAREFUL or your calf will founder. Go very slow on increasing the amount and back off if you see scours.
