If you are not a grandparent you will still love this. If you are it shows how precious the babies are and what we mean to them.

WHAT IS A GRANDPARENT?

(Taken from papers written by a class of 8-year-olds)

Grandparents are a lady and a man who have no little children of their own.
They like other people's.

A grandfather is a man, & a grandmother is a lady!

Grandparents don't have to do anything except be there when we come to see them. They are so old they shouldn't play hard or run. It is good if they drive us to the shops and give us money.

When they take us for walks, they slow down past things like pretty leaves and caterpillars.
They show us and talk to us about the colors of the flowers and also why we shouldn't step on 'cracks.'
They don't say, 'Hurry up.'

Usually grandmothers are fat but not too fat to tie your shoes.

They wear glasses and funny underwear.

They can take their teeth and gums out.

Grandparents don't have to be smart.

They have to answer questions like 'Why isn't God married?' and 'How come dogs chase cats?'

When they read to us, they don't skip. They don't mind if we ask for the same story over again.

Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you don't have
Television because they are the only grownups who like to spend time with us.

They know we should have snack time before bed time, and they say prayers with us and kiss us even when we've acted bad.

A 6-YEAR-OLD WAS ASKED WHERE HIS GRANDMA
LIVED. ''OH,'' HE SAID, ''SHE LIVES AT THE AIRPORT, AND WHEN WE WANT HER, WE JUST GO GET HER. THEN WHEN WE'RE DONE HAVING HER VISIT, WE
TAKE HER BACK TO THE AIRPORT.''

GRANDPA IS THE SMARTEST MAN ON EARTH! HE TEACHES ME GOOD THINGS, BUT I DON'T GET TO SEE HIM ENOUGH TO GET AS SMART AS HIM!

It' funny when they bend over; you hear gas leaks, and they blame their dog.

Send this to other grandparents, almost grandparents, or heck, send it to everyone. It will make their day.

Thanks Chrisy

I will become a grandparent for the first time next summer. I hope to live up to most of what you posted here.....Well maybe not the walkin farts but who knows..I guess it pays to keep the dog handy just in case.

Grandson just left
him and pop had to have a couple Oreo's
I am lucky my that one of my grandkids lives just down the driveway and I miss him if I don't get to see him at least once everyday
he is gonna get a baby brother for his b-day this yr or sister she/he is due on his 2nd b-day

I still haven't got to see the newest one yet he is 6 months now and I get pics of him almost everyday
Grammy is probably gonna get to see him again in April but doubt if I can make it down there
it is amazing how them little ones can have such an impast on your heart
don't know what I would do without them

That is pretty sweet.
This quote made me a little sad though...

"Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you don't have
Television because they are the only grownups who like to spend time with us."

I felt sorry for the child that said this.

Angus Cowman you are so right in your comment about how much a grand child impacts one's heart. It's a love like no other.
I know that may sound silly to some, but the other grandparents will understand.

Thanks for sharing it crisy :)

Crissy, I guess that is why God intended for the WHOLE family to raise kids. Not just the mom. I was lucky that my dad and grandparents were a part of my raising i have tried to be a part of my kids hope I succeeded. The navy kept them from their grandparents but it seemed there was always an older couple somewhere close to fill that void. Mostly the kids found them in guess where...Church!
