What happened to shorthorns?

I would like to try a Dairy Shorthorn bull on some beef cows.

You may not be overly impressed with the bull calves you get from this cross, but the heifer calves stand a good chance of being keepers. Excellent maternal traits and when crossed back to a beef Shorthorn (or any other beef bull), you'll get great growth and marbling.
