I bought this very clean 1976 Jeep CJ7, drivetrain is factory 304 v8/3 speed 113k miles, daily driver condition. I bought for a very good price and plan to flip it to pay for a post driver. So what do you think it would bring?

4500-$5,000 as is spend 2,500 to dress it up and should bring $9,500 if/when you find the right guy.

40 yr old vehicles are a niche market

You are spot on it's a niche market as well as cash market.
I have looked at several 67 to 69 GTO's like I once owned. I just can't wrap my head around writing a check for 40K+ for an automobile I originally paid 3K for.

They seem to sell pretty well where I am at. It wont take much cleaning, add some magna flow exhaust and new tires, it will be ready for the beach in the spring

Jeeps are desirable, especially ones that aren't rusted to pieces or hacked up. They'll never make a real Jeep again, the new ones pale in comparison.

I've seen them from 2500-10,000+ depending on condition.

My advice, fix what needs fixing, and clean it up good. Leave it stock.

Advertise it on CL, maybe on a Jeep forum.
