What are you eating today?

I come in from the evening calf check. The wife announces that dinner is bacon and asparagus. I have been known to eat bacon. I have also been known to eat asparagus. The great chefs of the world have never put the two together. But my wife.....
I solved the issue by eating a bowl of fresh steamed asparagus in a butter sauce. Washed them down and then eating some bacon. They were never on the same plate at the same time.

Home made pizza here. I use a bread machine set on dough to make the crust, then mash it out flat on a pizza pan. First some olive oil so the crust doesn't get soggy, then sauce, then a ton of finely minced garlic, then a ton of mozzarella cheese, then the toppings with oregano and fresh basil leaves and more cheese. Bake at 500 degrees for 10 minutes.

I've seen bacon wrapped asparagus in the grocery store, didn't look very appetizing to me.

I like bacon, I like asparagus, for the most part I'm not as keen on all the bacon wrapped stuff. Tend to like bacon on its own. Maybe in green beans if that's what's available to season them with.
Fresh asparagus cooked good and tender with butter is really good.

Try stacking pieces of round steak, onion, and your favorite pepper, and wrapping a piece of thick cut bacon around it, stick a toothpick through the whole thing to keep it together, then put it on the barbecue pit or under the broiler in your oven and see if you still feel the same way.

I'm sure it's good, it sure sounds good. Interesting way of preparing round steak.
Here in Appalachia round steak is a common meal and one of my favorites.
Here it's usually seared in a pan and then placed in the oven or crockpot and cooked, served with gravy, and a side of mashed potatoes,

My Darlin Companion made some chicken salad sandwiches for the grandkids yesterday. They loved it.

I just woke up looking for a midnight snack/breakfast and thought it was boring. I added a healthy dose of horseradish, red pepper, celery seed and garlic. It'll put the pep in your step.

I don't think the grandkids would like my modified concoction, but also betting I'm not the one attracting ticks and chiggars when we go fishing in the morning.

My Darlin. Bless her heart.

:DBrand is right, color is wrong....;)
There's walnuts in it just not showing in the picture.
Funny how when the color of black walnut is mentioned, I immediately think of green as we have a lot of those black walnut trees growing wild around here and the outside of the hull is bright green when on the tree.
They have a green earthy smell to them too to me.

That's the thing with vanilla...you can add your own toppings and flavors. But I mostly relegated to sneaking a spoon full for a treat every now and again these days. I miss the chocolate chip cookies and pecan pie too....The rest of it I really didn't care about. Well, Snickers and Hershey's are in the mix.....oh and Dewberry Cobbler......wouldn't want Bluebell Chocolate on that unless your really in a pinch. :ROFLMAO:

Dang diabetes...
