It's the same story here - everyone shies away from the Jersey content.
I haven't tried beef shorthorn. Thinking of trying the milking shorthorn as a cross, but it's a fair way down the list of breeds I want to try out in the milking herd. I just haven't been too impressed by the shorthorn udders on display in the dairy sire catalogues.
I sold some nice Herefordxdairy calves in the spring from crossbred cows but out of goodness knows how many Angus babies only got one I thought was saleable - and it was out of a Jersey!
Got a surprise one morning too, from one of the heifers I'd leased to another farmer last year - a White Galloway. It sold well.
