Ahhh, finally the last major job is done for the summer. The cows are sorted, most are in the pasture that they are going to spend the rest of the summer in AND the bulls are with the girls. That is the big job. Getting the cows in and sorting them into the groups that we want with each bull, at least until the first cycle is over or they destroy a fence or gate   .

Was a pretty nice day for working cattle too. Got the 3 that we wanted loaded and on the road by 8:30 this morning, the others went out last night. 2 hours later we were at the pasture. Unloaded the bulls into a pen then unloaded and saddled the horses. Only took an hour or so to gather and bring the cows in, but what do you suppose we see when we got close to the corrals?? The bulls had done what they do best and wrecked part of the corral and were on their way to meet us.

Fortunately, all they had done was pop some boards off instead of shattering them so it was a fairly easy fix. Got them back in the corral with the cows and then sorted them off. It is sooooo much easier sorting cows when you don't have "excited" bulls fighting with each other or running you over in their enthusiasim. Took a bit of time getting the first bunch sorted off, but after that it was pretty easy going. No other major problems other than a gate wire that had been accidentally stapled to a different post :?:  . And only 1 cow in heat out of 75 today. Sure hope they pick up!!
