What a weird start to Winter in Australia. Its been very warm everywhere. There is no snow in our high country. The ski season is supposed to start this weekend. There has been a lot of rain right down in the south west corner of the country,in Western Australia. 90% of our state is now in drought with the remainder classed as marginal. All the other states are experiencing drought. Alice Springs right in the middle of Australia has had 36 mls for the past year ( about 1.44 inches) the driest for 63 years. One of our 25,000 population cities in our state has virtually no water left, their water supply dam is down to 8% capacity. They are to hurriedly build a pipeline to start boosting the supply. That area can get some rain normally during winter but the chances are not great.
We've had a couple of minus 5c temps but mostly zero c temps, had about 18 frosts so far but still have our pumpkin vine.
It might rain one day,has in the past.

Very wierd from what i hear. I'm in WA just north of perth and have had that much rain are paddocks are now too wet to get on and therfore we can't seed yet. Not so big a problem as we would normally seed in July (so the the crop is ready when the paddocks are dry enough to get on after winter). But for June we have already had a couple of 100ml of rain - not the norm.
