A return to winter like conditions in eastern Australia. Snow to 30cm depth (about a foot or so) along the southern ranges and in Tasmania. Its windy and cool at our place with the threat of sleet later in the day. The Brahmans and Droughtmasters are looking a bit cool, Its 8C at the minute.

Yes, very strange weather yesterday. Started off at 12 degrees in the morning, ended up at 8 by lunchtime. Every hour we would have ten minutes of hail, then the sun would shine and it would be blue skies, then an hour later another ten minutes of hail. It just kept going like that. Mustering the stock was not fun!

Didn't do much with the cattle today. Too darn cold. The calves were lying by their mothers off the top of the hills. We had a few episodes of snow that turned to hail then to a bit of rain. Winds dropped now,could be a rotten frost in the morning. Haven't put the tomatoes out yet,still have them in pots.

Big frost here this morning. Hit a few plants and dulled the grass a bit. Could be another one in the morning.
