Can someone please tell me how long a calve must be seperated from the mother cow before it is completely weaned?

never...put em back together n youll see what i mean

There is a lot of truth in this, but just as much as saying it takes the millisecond it takes for the latch to fall when they are seperated.

When do they stop bawling and present themselves at auction as weaned?

When does momma dry up?

I have a good momma that has 2 first and second calvers of hers follow her. They lay down, they are together.

Highly individualistic, but I will go with 2 months, as opposed to the other posters.

:D :D

Generally speaking, a couple of months should do it, but for every rule there is the excepion. We weaned at 7 months, kept the replacement heifers seperate from the main herd until they were due to calve as 2 year olds, and still had the occasional problem with a heifer nursing her mother.
