I live in southeast Texas, just getting some new heifers, was wondering what type of feed to give them and how much.

Typically they will need 1.5-2 pounds/100 wt a day depending on what forage they will/won't have. Are you raising for replacements? If so I assume you have pasture to put them on. If you have pasture or will be haying them then 12% protein feed will work just fine for you. Then again depending on how old they are you might just be able to turn out on the pasture. Many variables in this.
