my cow has watering eyes, and it is freezing on her face, but not close to her eyes, looks like little ice sickles. should i be concerned? could it be from the bitter cold weather here in PA? thx. MR
Hey! Don't know about PA; we're in Texas. However, watering eyes on any 4-legged (or 2 legged) animal in lieu of a foreign object or infection could very well be caused by cold and windy. Perhaps the body's defense to "warm" the cornea and keep lubricated. In icing conditions, any moisture/watering would of course freeze if temp. was low enough, counteracting the body's heat. Just don't let eyelids freeze shut...lol.
