Warts on cows

Help Support CattleToday:

Hi Jason welcome to the board. If you'll do a search for warts the first page has 10 or so threads about them.
IME they (the warts) take care of themslves in time.

there are several types of warts we haev some on our dairy cattle these ones we cna just rip off with pliers each calf or cow usually gets it done twice then it goes away

One of my daughters pen of three heifers for the fair had a few warts on her...simple solution...put her in the chute, had went to walmart and bought one of them wart remover kits. Froze em off.

They do make a wart vaccine that works fairly well. I have used it but don't deem it neccessary unless you are going to show them or something. They will fall off when it gets cold, then ringworm will come, but it will go away when it gets warm. No, I'm just joking, its always something when you have cattle seems like.

How much do you want to mess with your cows....I've done both, cut and yank off. Have found that they usually go away in a few months anyway...
