Gotta give credit where credit is due.
France has banned labeling and advertising plant based products using traditional names of animal based foods such as:
burger, sausage, steak, butter, cheese, milk or any other terms used for traditional meat and dairy foods.

Using animal food names to market vegetarian foods is deceiving and misleading to consumers and is now subject to
fines of up to $300,000. Who would of ever thought France would lead the way with common sense?
But when it comes to food, don't mess the French or their cuisine.

Good for France. Maybe we ought to learn????? The French do like their food and wine so maybe they are realizing that they need to keep their food labels true to what the food is. I am not against vegetarian diets or people, but they need to be labeled as such.

French fried Irish potatoes, harvested by Mexican immigrants, fried in a cooker made in one of the Chinas, served next to an Aberdeen Angus steak season with south american/asian spices, Texas toast, followed by German chocolate cake and french vanilla ice cream..we've become men of international intrigue..
