A man who owns of one of the larger cattle operations in my town (400+ head)was sitting in the dentist's waiting room with me. I asked him what he does for pinkeye prevention in his herd and he told me that he adds vitamin A granules to his cows mineral and/or feed. He claims that this has virtually eliminated pinkeye problems for him. He thinks it's been more effective than ANY other treatment. He said he adds a half coffee can full to 50lbs of feed or mineral. Does anyone have experience with this? And where do you buy this?

My grandpa used to sell mineral for Moormans and he swears by Vitamin A. Depending on the quality of the mineral it should stop the eyes from watering, which should help with face flies. I have never actually tried Vitamin A granules, but do try to select for high vitamin A mineral.
