Hello! I am very new at this and just now doing research and I need help with a structure and grazing area where it will go during the day. I picture would also be so great! I am getting a baby bottle cow. All help and information would be much appreciated thank you.

I would think that you would need a shelter that provides shade if Non available in the grazing area. also a way to restrain the calf for health related vaccinations and treatments when needed. not sure about how much grazing area you need in Texas but good fencing is needed regardless of your location. how old will this baby cow be when you get her? bottle feeding your first time can be little more than expected since scour problems and bottle feeding seem to go hand and hand for younger calves. let us know if you have questions along the way. good luck with your baby cow and hope she does well for you.

If it's a bottle calf, you Need to get an ALL Milk, Milk Replacer made for Calves. A 2 quart calf bottle. Electrolytes to have on hand to be given at the first sign of scours. Your local vets number. There location also stop by and visit them, so they can put a face to the name, for when you need them. And be prepared to haul the calf to the vet, the first time you need medicine. Not trying to be pestimistic but I used to raise 50-60 bottle calves a year and, a good relationship with your local vet is a good thing to have. Read everything you can find on bottle calves.

Lady at church has the right idea on bottle calves and that's two jerseys IMO.
