Vermeer R2300 & John Deere 705 V-rakes...

Currently looking to purchase one of the above mentioned rakes to help cut down our raking time. It appears that the John Deere 705 is actually made by Vermeer but painted green. Just wanted to touch base with you all and see if anyone had any first hand experience with these. If so, pro's & con's?

I have a Vemeer I bought new last year, I like it real well.

I had a JD can't remember the # but it was a 26ft rake the only problem I had was the tube were the hyd drive motor mounts cracked on both sides but I had used it for a few yrs before i had any problems

The 2300 is the new version of the R23A isn't it? If so that rake unfolds hydrolicly...a big plus. I have a JD705 and when you are in big feilds where you don't have to unfold and fold up a bunch is nice but in smaller feilds it is a pain. Havent had any problems with the 705 since I bought it 5 yrs ago except the bearing housing on the front wheel cracking...I hit a deep hole in a feild.
