I recently aquired four new heifers. The recomendation from or extension office is, Vaccinations 7- way clostridial Respiratory (IBR, BVD, PI3, BRSV virus vaccines, consider Pasteurella) Brucellosis for replacement heifers. What are you all using to cover all of this ?? Two of the heifers I am sure will be kept for replacements, the others we will see how they grow up.

Thanks,

All of those. My 4 way is Modified Live. I sue the Bovishield Gold 5 FP. It is 4 way and 5 way lepto combined. Watch the age on your heifers. After 11 months my vet does not vaccinate them. They will show a false positive. so vaccinate them befor a year old. I try to at 6 months.

I am sorry. The comment on the 11 months is for Brucellosis. You can vaccinate for all the others at times their whole life.

all our calves get:
Bovishield Gold 5
One Shot ultra 7
Somubac
TSV-2
thias cover them for everything of concern in our area. The TSV-2 is a shot with a much faster response since it is an internasal shot. Definatly go for the Modified live BVD shot(BSG5)
