Looking into getting a sprayer to put in the back of a Polaris Ranger 900 for spraying fencerows and smaller plots of land. Considering a boomless one so I can use it in wooded areas easier, and in taller stands of stickweed, etc. Below is a link to the one I'm most interested in, scroll down to the UTV-65-BL model. Anyone have any recommendations/words of wisdom? We've got an old Fimco sprayer on our atv and it's been great. I'm open to other name brands and models up to 100 gallons, but have no desire to spend 3k on one at the moment.

Thanks.

Its a decent choice. I have boom like that from the first sprayer I ever owned. Its handy for fence rows if you can drive close to them because you can swivel the spray end to any angle you want. This allows you to set it up at a downward angle and just drive down them. You can also pivot them where they point straight down to do the edges of driveways or ranch roads.

Persoanl preference, but I prefer a boom sprayer that has a hose feeding each end. Mine I put simple globe valves in so I can spray one side or the other or both. For me it makes it more flexible what can be done.

Congrats on the Polaris! And that sprayer is way nicer than ours! We have some donkey tank that hooks up the the Polaris as I strategically drive around the weeds, wielding the wand, and occasionally get out and drag the dang hose.

I like the looks of the FS sprayers, but by the time you add a boom and such it's pretty easy to drop $3k on one. I've found a low profile 100 gal tank that'll fit my bed pretty snug, have been kicking the idea around of just building my own.

Thanks. We struggled between the Ranger and the Mule, and still think the Mule would be better for what we're going to use it for 75% of the time. I just liked driving the Ranger more, and figure it'll do a little better in snow/mud in the winter here.

I've owned a couple of those tips, and they both failed. Could have been. Y dumb luck, because they sprayed a pretty pattern when they were working. I'm be used a $20 Hamilton all summer. Sprays 45'. Very little drift. I'd recommend it to anybody.

Ya I would not pay $3K for that. That's pretty steep.

Where did you find the 100g tank? I really like those low profits square tanks in your first link but I don't want the boom. It's amazing how quick it goes even spot spraying.

Don't know if you can find a better price or no. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/produ ... _vc=-10005

Thanks.

I have the 25 gallon with 7ft boom that I bought this year and it's ok. Has a 2.2gpm pump that is barely adequate and the tank outlet is not in a good spot so I have to spray the last 10 gallons with the driver side downhill.

Hoe many nozzles does it have? Mine has 6 nozzles and a 1.8 is plenty adequate, but I'm not trying to qualify for a race either.

Going by memory, mine has 5 or 6. I use it for touch-up work for the spots I missed with the 300 gallon sprayer.

FYI: I have a Raven GPS and STILL manage to miss stuff here and there!

Here's what I use for spot spraying. The spray can be moved to the center for spraying oil on the driveway and be about a 7' coverage, set as they are now it has a 12' coverage. For spraying fence lines you push the tips together and turn one tip vertical and leave one horizontal. I have less than $200 in it.

I wish I could still spray oil here. The road I need to keep oiled runs right along edge of the Nat Forest. They'd have a cow if there was any overspray or run off.

The cows eat the edge of the road first every time, I've been thinking about making a test plot and trying oil on a larger scale. But I'm afraid someone might have a cow also.

Oil when applied lightly will make the grass grow like fertilizer.
