USDA Microloan to Get Started

Anyone here use the program to get started with cattle?

Any thoughts, tips, tricks or suggestions?

May be a different program, but a few years ago, I sold one of our family farms to a young neighbor using the USDA New Farmer Program. Cattle and some equipment included. It took a long time--lots of inspections/appraisals and he had to submit a very detailed business plan. It eventually worked out well for him and I was happy to help him get started.

great program that you can get low interest loans from.

i'd use it if you qualify.

I know this is an old post but I've got an opinion on the USDA/ FSA Micro loans after applying last 2 days. NOt worth paper printed on. after filling out all for MIcroloan now they tell us we have to have a credit - check test AND a bank denial letter in order to qualify. SAYYY whatttt..? My bank will loan me $ but at 9% interest. HOw is a farmer supposed to get approved for this program. These guys don't want to help people seem impossible to get one through!
