Will small amounts of rainfall (less than 1/10th of an inch) or a heavy dew cause urea to lose it's nitrogen to the atmosphere?

I've always heard that when it gets 85 degrees or higher an no signifigant rainfall is expected, it's better to use ammonia nitrate for pastures when it's hotter and dryer because it takes more water to activate urea. Thanks in advance.

Yes a light shower or heavy dew during hot weather will cause urea to dissipate or evaporate losing its effectiveness.I have used urea in warmer weather but for corn and incorporated (plowed) it into the ground.
