We have been dealing with a lot of animal rights activists. Thought this article about a local fair in our area was interesting. This fair takes place about 1 hour out from a major city. We have had neighbours wake up to all their animals released and their barns swarmed. Our new farm is setting up in a suburban neighbourhood. Chickens and cattle. Should be an interesting fight for me.

I wonder if this fad will pass or is it just going to get worse and worse every year. A bad famine or depression, may be even a war, would certainly make them see life a bit more realistically.

Animal rights activists can be controlled very well if the event is willing to put in the effort. We have an event in Vermont called strolling of the hefiers. All the 4-H kids bring their calves, dress them up in themes and parade them through the center of Brattleboro. There are Thousands of people there and not once have we ever had a problem. Why? Because the owner of the parade had full support of law enforcement to kick anyone out for just looking at the kids the wrong way. ARAs are not an issue given diligent staff.
