types of operations

I read post where you mention commercial, stocker,backgrounder, feedlot. Can you explain these different types to me?

Commercial are unon-seestock operations.
Stockers are calves that are between weaning and the feedlot, typically pastured or run on crop residue
Backgrounder takes stockers or weaned calves and gets them ready to go to the feed lot
Feedlot is where they are finsihed for slaughter
