We are not a stranger to twins. We have a very small herd and a very large percentage of twins. This pair seems different. Twin 1 is good, the 2nd walks around in circles and tries to nurse every corner but can not latch on to mom or find her. We have milked her and bottle fed him. He is not very good at standing still for bottle feed either. Any ideas? She is a great mom and calls them both but does not have the patience for calf number 2 antics.

Can you pen them all up together for a while? Supplement the special calf with a bottle colostrum first then milk replacer daily. Sometimes they just take a little more time to figure everything out. Usually by the end of the week it will be better.

We can not tell if she has any blindness troubles. Him eyes seem clear. We do have him locked up with the mom and other twin. Still bottle feeding but Mom is giving up on standing for her unless we get her in the head gate.

We had a similar calf and do no not want to alarm you by telling you this but she was mentally challenged. She grew to about 600# and stopped. Eyes were funny, very bony. Vet said it came from being in the birth canal too long.
