Twin question

Help Support CattleToday:

Like jeanne said, i hate twins too never had luck with em at first thought its like having two for the price of one you soon realize the problem.keeping the cow healthy, her taking both calves, both of em living the extra calf is more of a burden .wouldnt keep a heifer out of twins of opposite sex

I don't know about twin bulls having a lower sperm count than non twins. Maybe later maturing therefore slower to hit puberty maybe. In the development process there isn't anything to my knowledge that could cause him to be less of a bull.

I've got no problem with twins if they cow will raise them up. A bull out of a set of twins no matter what the opposite sex will be fine to breed. his grandaughters may have a higher % of twins but unless bred for this is highly unlikely. The widely popluar New Design 878 bull is a twin. OCC Magnitude is a twin. They are just fine for breeding purposes
