Moved a deer stand today to a food plot and the turkeys were out scratching around. Looks like a pretty healthy crop for next spring.

Nice! Do you have a Fall Turkey season?

They said wild turkeys could NEVER survive this far North :oops:
We have two flocks on the ranch now, 11 and 6.

Some feed with the cattle in the Winter and I leave a few oat hay bales in their wintering areas. Cold doesn't seem to bother them if they have food. :D :D
 
No fall season here. Amazingly, it was only 15-20 years ago we had no turkeys at all. In the cow pasture by the river, I have had as many as 50 on me at one time. It was great to watch but terrible to hunt since there were 100 eyes watching me.

I'm jealous we had a few haven't seen or heard a turkey since Rita.
