Compared to last week: Stocker steers and feeder steers 2.00-3.00
higher. Stocker heifers 2.00-3.00 higher. Feeder heifers steady to 1.00
higher. Demand good. Weigh-ups mostly average. Cattle in medium to
fleshy condition. Receipts comprised of 42 percent steers, 49
percent heifers, 9 percent bulls, with 22 percent of feeder cattle
over 600 lbs.
Slaughter cows and bulls steady to 1.00 lower, mostly on lean cows. Demand
improved for bred cows. A total of 320 cows and bulls sold with 46 percent
going to packers.
