Went to a couple sales yesterday. Caught the last part of the weekly stocker sale at OKC West in El Reno. Calves selling pretty good. A batch of 61 steers weighing 576 brought $1.66. Most sold brought over a $1.50, calves in the 400-600# range. Other highlights:
A small group of 400# bwf heifers brought $1.47. They sorted off a hereford marked heifer off that group, she sold for a $1.33
A small red bull about 100# or so sold for $270.
Later in the day went to a special cow sale in Fairview. Sold about 400 cows. One selling ranch had some pinkeye cows. They sold them at the end and they still brought over $1100. Younger cows, <6 yrs, bred or pairs did not sale for less than $1500. Some heavy breds and some pairs, bwf, brought $2000 or more. You could get some older bred cows and pairs in the $1200-1400 range. I had my eye on a small red heifer with her first calf. She got ran up to $1300. A few other oddball cows and heifers went for less than 1k. This 8yo pair brought $1100.
