I am able to kill everything in the Bermuda Grass Hay field but cannot kill the Trumpet Vine. Of course my burn down was Prowl, 2,4 D and Round Up, but I don't think the Trumpet Vine was green at the time. Used Outrider for Johnson Grass and Nutsedge, and at this time, the trumpet vine had leaves. It listed Trumpet Vine in the weeds that Dicamba killed. But it only bit the top out of the Trumpet Vine and it is still growing.

It claims that Round Up will kill it, but no way I can use this herbicide on Bermuda Grass. I thought that Dicamaba at 32 oz per acre would kill it. It does not.

Anyone else find a herbicide that will kill it and hopefully something I can spray over the Bermuda. There is quite a bit of this vine all over the field.

I had that stuff all over our barn when we bought this place. Some of it was pretty big around where it came out of the ground. I cut every place it grew from the ground with a chainsaw or lopers and treated the "stumps" with Triclopyr 4 mixed with diesel.

I have seen it on the roadside by our hayfield but actually have never seen it grow across it in the grass. I have no experience with bermuda but maybe Triclopyr or something with it (crossbow) would help?

Awwgghh! Thanks chaded!!
I just called Titan Ag to ask them what kind of Triclopyr they had. None in stock right now, but he said that the Tricloypr would ding the Bermuda Grass right now but won't kill it. I don't think I can take another ding on the grass as the field still looks nuked right now and I am not expecting to get a cutting unless it surprises me.

He suggested to wait till October before it frosts, when the Bermuda is winding down with less sun light, but the Trumpet vine is still green. Then mix it with a liquid nitrogen to push new growth, and the herbicide works better for killing it off.

I walked the hay field once again to pull up perennial rye grass clumps that keep hanging on. Odd how they keep showing up. Thought the Prowl would would stop the seeds, but I guess perennial is the name for a reason. So, I am anxious to see by pulling them up with the root ball, will it pop back up.

While walking the field, I noticed that I was not seeing trumpet vines. It had been a week since I was walking it because of non stop rain. So the Dicamba "Detonate" is a real slow kill for trumpet vine. Thankful to see it gone.
