Recalls are mandated and regulated and overseen by the federal government, which is why they are sometimes slow but, I can assure you that Ford doesn't use lawyers in place of a recall, way too many vehicles and way too many feds that would like to crawl up their behinds. A few complaints to the feds and it gets investigated. Read a thing that insurance companies are obligated to file all claims they have paid to the federal government monthly, so they know what's going on before we do as always.
