Trimmimg back gourds

I planted dipper gourds on three trellisses this year. They look great. In fact, they are kinda taking over one side of the house. Will it hurt them if I trim them back?
 
I'm going to say you're probably OK to trim them back. Maybe trim them a little and see how they respond, then trim more later.
 
a lot of time the gourds grow at the end of the vines so I wouldn't get to crazy with the trimmming. Try just throwing the vines back onto themselves.
