Check with Colorado State University website. Also, Temple Grandin (she) has done lot of work on cattle handling facilities. Also, look at some product catalogs of the major modular cattle equipment manufacturers. See your local farm & ranch dealer for details.

P.S.: County extension agents nowadays are more into Home Econ and 4-H that anything dealing with serious farm & ranch agriculture & livestock management and production...am I missing something here?? duh... just my own experiences with their lack of viable F&R services....

i think you are missing something Bill. our county agent does help out the kids but any time i have a question or need anything, he's more than eager to help. they host seminars & field days to keep up with continuing education for applicators' license hours and crop tours and demonstrations as well as host an all-breed bull & female sale for all the area ranchers to just name a few of their responsibilities. sure they're involved with the kids, but that's just a small part of their jobs. as for Home Econ, i don't know about your area, but that's a whole separate job here.

Our county extension office has a youth agent, a home economist, a community development advisor, and a livestock specialist. They and their support staff do an excellent job around here. They are a definite asset to our area!

Samm, thanks, I never thought of that! My plan was to go somewhere that sells them and start measuring! I was puttin it off due to looking like an idiot when I had to confess to the salesman that I wasn't interested, I just want to go home and try to build one for less!
