Hi guys,
seeing as this is a US based board i am looking for some info re travelling to America from Australia.
Im a country girl who has a huge passions for Paints and Quarter Horses (i breed them here in Aus)
I am not interested in going to places with casino's etc, i have Texas in mind and thats about it at the moment. Does anybody know any good websites where i can find some good travelling info.
Thanks in advance
:D

For a "country girl" I would think Texas is a good starting point. You can see everything from swamps in the east to desert and mountains as you go west. It's also close to Louisiana, which makes it even more special. ;-)

The more the merrier...

I have just had my heart shattered after OH and i seperated so i need to get away. Am thinking November :D

You should go up to Arthur, Nebraska to Craig Haythorns they are the largest breeder of QH in the U.S. they also run a large cattle operation not to mention they are nice folks
do a search for Haythorn Quarter Horses and you should come up with some contact info

Hey Keren, yes that is why unfortunately. Sold all but 2 so think i will keep them for myself for now. Had one calve a Purebred Jersey heifer calf the other day so i would like her to stay... see what happens

bugger. november is still the show circuit for me. have fun girls!
You have done the show thing before. Now it is time to visit here. US and Louisiana awaits you girls.
We will think your accent quite charming.
Go next door to Texas and get k2011 to take you to a roping and a rodeo. See her post on here.)

Make sure you visit Tennessee while in the states. Tennessee has it all from deltas in the west, rolling hills in the central to rugged mountains in the east (Smokey Mountain National Park). Middle Tennessee where I live is the Tennessee Walking Horse capitol of the world and there are several good quarter horse breeders as well. Nashville is a hopping scene for those wishing to visit the clubs. Country Music stars routinely mingle with common folk at resturaunts, clubs, sporting events and even at the grocery store. The folks are very friendly and the local food is fantastic. Most folks don't realize what a hidden treasure Tennessee is until they visit. Lots of Aussies go to Nashville for the country music festivals and the overall music scene.

Nice to know if we were ever to head to the US we wouldn't be short on beds

I have heard Michigan is nice. I'm planning on heading to Niagara Falls US side in a couple of years over Christmasto see friends and so my boyfriend can go on a real hunt where the game doesn't hop :p . It'll all depend on money how many other places we visit.
