Went and looked at Travel trailers, Key word = "looked"
I was just wondering if any body has heard any thing bad about Dutchmans or fleetwood.
I know that this can turn in to a debate like ford versus chevy, I hope it doesn't
We are thinking about a tag along first , then stepping up to a 5th wheel.

thanks for the replys ;-)

You looking at a pop-up or a full sized tagalong?

Have a client that sells them - from the smallest to the most expensive - along with 5'th wheel and the self propelled jobs - cannot remember the breeds.

Tells me that if they are new - pick one with the features you like - along with the price you like and they are all pretty good.

I am sure someone will disagree with me - but this guy is in the know - so just go with the flow.

He also reccommends you rent one or two different types to try on a short trip before you commit to buying. Only you can make the final decision - hence the reason he sells about 4 different brands.

If you buy new from him he deducts the rental price you paid for the try out from the price of a new model.

There ya' go.

Lot of money setting in the yard 350 days a year when you can rent one.

Good advice, I'm lookin at a tag-a-long first , with plans on stepping up to a 5th wheel.

We have a bumper pull Terry that we use at least one weekend a month and usually a couple of weeks during the summer for getaways. We love it. spending time with the family and you meet a lot of nice people at different places. Made alot of good friends. I feel that they more than pay for themselves in family time together.

But that's just my opinion, (I know some are going to jump at that answer, but it's my money). Just like it's your money and your business, do with it what you and your family think are best, not what other's rag about.

Oh another advantage to one, is when a lot of family come for a visit, you have extra beds.

to me, it would depend on use. we rent a camper anymore to go camping because we don't use it as much as we used to. cheaper that way and also takes up less space in the driveway. i think all of the campers they have are good, it's all what you like and what kind of price you wanna pay. if you wanna go for the "big guns" there's always a motor home and then you can pull a boat or car. all depends on what your gonna use if for and how many times a year and if you feel its worth it.
