Any time a engine is started it should be brought up to operating temp. to dry out the condensation in the engine. Condensation water will dilute the oil and cause rust and corrosion inside the engine. A heater will have the engine well on its way to operating temp. and will save the battery, starter and waiting time to put into operation.
