Working on a program for an annual meeting for a cattlemen's group. What are some topics that could be discussed in an hour session that would be of interest to you and would encourage you to go to town to take part in the meeting?

Around here we got tired of listing to the state extension folks spouting the
same old stuff so we set up a panel discussion group consisting of a local
large animal vet, a stocker operator, a commercial cow/calf guy and a
purebred operator. This idea was for each to do a short presentation and
then answer questions. Each person brought a different approach and a lot
of good "hands on" information.

Army worms are taking this area right now.

Fly control is another good subject.

If you teach cattle for dummies, you're only going to catch the interest of dummies. You might find out what the folks would like for discussion topics at the next meeting. Allot some time for an open forum with Q & A etc. Just don't let someone monopolize things.

Great idea, I would travel to that meeting. Also interested in the genetic profiling that is being done.....
