Tooth knocked out - Round 2

I have a 10 week old calf who lost one of her front teeth. I got some great advice here so I'm back for more!

She's doing well with hay and feed. Does better when the feed is solid and not softened. I have been sifting out the larger and broken pieces of corn to prevent debris from lodging in the area where the tooth came out.

With moistened feed it looked like she had a dip in after she ate. Went back to solid.

I do rinse the area with room temp water after she eats.

I have noticed after bottle feeding, there is some blood mixed in with her saliva.

No active bleeding. Looks like an ooze.

Has some swelling in what looks like her chin area.

No signs, that I can see of infection. She's still playful and energetic.

My questions:
1. Is there a coagulant powder I can put in the gum area? Should I?
2. When should I reach out to a vet?
3. Should I consider weaning completely from the bottle?
4. Should I be doing something for inflammation/swelling?

I really appreciate the support I've gotten here. I'm a nurse practitioner in my other life but those patients can talk and, for the most part, don't kick when I try to examine them 😅

1) Yes they make blood stop powder. NO I would not put it in the calfs mouth.
2) It doesn't sound like a reason to call the vet. How ever building a good relationship with your vet is something you want to do sooner rather than later so that you have that relationship established before an emergency arises.
3) yes, go ahead and wean her.
4) Time will take care of the swelling.

is swollen area hot at all? to me swelling MIGHT be a sign of infection, unless it is just inflammation from whatever the original injury was...watch for a few days if no other symptoms don't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry about rinsing it out unless a vet instructs you to do that. might even be pushing material deeper.
