Tomato soup, skins or not?

I saw a recipe for Tomato soup that set out what one had to do and at the end it said to put the result through a blender. Would this cut up what I thought would be tough Tomato skins?

If I'm making a tomato-based soup - usually vegetable... or Brunswick Stew... I'm gonna puree those tomatoes. I don't want any ol' big chunks of tomato in my soup/stew... just smooth through and through.
So, yes, the blender will pretty well obliterate the toughest of tomato skins.

I wouldn't bother peeling them, but then again I don't even peel potatoes unless they're so old the skin is wrinkling, so what do I know?

You saying you take the skin off your tofu?
:lol: Don’t know about tofu....but I guess if I were making tofu soup I’d peel it and seed it before spinning it up in the disposal.
