For those of you who were following, here are some brand new pics of the black calf. As I was saying before we aren't sure whether to keep her or not. She is a darn good calf, but she is 1/2 Maine, and that doesn't really fit into the herd, which is almost entirely British breed cattle. Also, we purchased her mama last fall out of a dispersal, so while we are pretty impressed with her and the job she is doing, we have no history on her. There is also a pic of mama here.

This is mama. She sure is in good condition, considering it has been pretty dry here for the last couple months, and she is raising a darn good calf.

The calf, she was born on Mar 31 with a BW of 113. Unassisted birth, and other than vaccinations we haven't done anything with her.

So there you go, we are thinking we will keep her. If she gets too big, or just doesn't work for us we can always sell her later ;-)

you have the same picture twice

hard to see the calf :)
