Went to the sale yesterday, and sold several of my bottle fed Holstiens.........and sat waiting for them to sell, so I can just take my check home with me........( they sold good too!)

Anyways, light turn out of both cattle and buyers, one came into the ring, and few bid on her, so I did, and got her at 68 cents a poundX 468 lbs...I knew there had to be something i wasn't seeing bringing the price down so low, but if i couldn't fix her I could always eat her.......
Anyway, it turns our she was walking on her rear right leg tipy toed.....meaning she was walking on her toes.... Brought her home, and did an exam, and found nothing, no foriegn object's, cuts, swelling, heat or anything........ although she is kinda wild.

Just kinda wondering, any one else seen this and how long it may take to work out? Maybe some way to help it heal sooner, what ever it is? :cboy:

Yup...stiff legged today... may have something to do with a few injections I threw in her yesterday as well. but sounds like your right on the moeny..... any suggestions?
Medic ol' Buddy, You know better than to bid on or buy those type of Cattle, Ain't nothing but trouble. I'd rather pay 50 cents a pound more and get a good en'.

Is she really straight legged? It is possible to get them too straight and when they walk the actually stifle themselves.

Yup, your right..I did know beter, but cattle business and especially sale barns as i have admitted so many times, is like a trip to the casinos.......

I let her out of the catch pen this morning, will give her say.... a month, and see what happenes, if she gains weight, she will be on a hook this fall, if she doesn't,,, back to the sale barn to take my losses......................win some, loose some.

maybe a miracle will stike my farm and she wil be completely healed in that time.and she will make an excellent addition to the brood herd. after all, so much bad luck has hit over the years , that SOME good luck has to shine through my way! :)
