tieing a calf out

would it be ok to tie a 7 mth. old calf out in a pasture with one of those cheap rope harnesess untill she is tammed down a little bit. she is a little crazy and i'm afraid she will run through my fence (its not the greatest)the mother is very calm so i don't think that i have to worry about her . i would of course ad some more rope to it so she could move around,thank s MR

>If the calf is with its mother, it wont be going anywhere. It will stay close to its mom. It would be more dangerous to tie out a calf then not. Cows move around the pasture alot, and need to get to shade and water. My opinion-- Id never tie one out in the pasture.
