Through breeding?

I know that bulls lose quite a bit of weight during breeding. The bull was put in just after the first of the year so he has been with the girls for at least 6 weeks. I noticed when I was feeding yesterday that he has put most of the weight back on. Would this be a good indicator that he is through "working" and I can pencil in a date when my last calf should be born?

>My first question is how many cows are you trying to breed him to? He may have caught them all on their first cycle, but YOu may want to leave him in for another cycle to be sure he caught everybody. A cow usually comes into cycle every 21 days (on an average) if im not mistaken. I have notice with our bulls, when breeding, they look like theyve gained weight, but in reality, they bulk up and shape up. However, every breed and age of bull may be differant.
