Harsh to blame the victim.

True but she made herself a victim by her actions or in action. First rule of thumb is your responsible for your own safety.

It's a toss up. Should we live our lives always hyper vigilant and on alert, constantly stressing ourselves with adrenaline, or should we live life relaxed and expect that nothing bad will ever happen? It's easy to point out the shoulda, coulda, woulda in life, and yes she could have done things to have kept her alive. However, the fact remains that if the alleged killer had not attacked her, she'd still be alive.

It doesn't have to be an either/or decision. There are options somewhere in the middle.
