I've been reading these boards for quite some time and only recently started posting. I enjoy hearing what everyone has to say, and agree or disagree, it's nice to hear other perspectives. To the point; My Dr. told me last Friday he suspected I had some sort of blockage in my heart. The EKG indicated the same thing. I failed a stress test on Monday and am scheduled for angioplasty at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis on Friday. When the Dr. asked if I had ever had a stress test, I reminded him that I was a Jr. High Science teacher. He said, "That doesn't that doesn't mean you can handle stress, that just means you're stupid!" If you believe in prayer, I would appreciate it you would include me in yours. Thanks and keep on posting! Mike

The pump repaur jobs they're doing now are fantastic. Scary, but you'll be surprised at how fast you're up and around and feeling better then you have in years. Even with only half of my heart still working I have the energy of an 18 year old, just not the stamina. Been 5 years and I'm still surprised at how well things worked out.

Mike, you'll be remembered in our prayers. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

Mike, today is an age of medical miracles. A friend of mine just had aneurysms (sp?) repaired behind her eyes without surgery. They ran a tiny camera up from her groin, through her heart and filled the aneurysms with coiled wire. Amazing stuff. Good luck to you and let us hear....

Good luck on your operation. These types of procedures are now a piece of cake to surgeons that do them all the time. Its so pleasing to see so many persons on this board thinking of another human when there is so much non caring attitudes for people in our world. We only have one world and we should all look after each other. Best Wishes Colin

I know it is the big day for Mike and that he probably won't read this before surgery, but I am going to pray for God's watchful eye to be over Mike during surgery and also God's speed during recovery. I live sixty-five miles southwest of St. Louis and know that Mike is in good hands at Barnes.

In this day and age everything is moving by so fast, but it is simple thing such as health, family, friends, and faith that are really important in life. Other things are minute compared to these. We need to stop and take a look at ourselves and see what we really have. God bless America and all of you.

> posting! Mike Mike My husband of 28 years is going through the same thing on the 17th. words for you to think about while all sugery is dangrous they will probbly give you a stint to open the blockage. We went through this 2 years ago and it was like a hose was turned on he felt so much better. The problem is the stints they put in then had a life span of about 2-3 yrs. they have developed much better ones now as they have a coating that keeps blocks from accouring.I hope this will help aleavite some of your fears and that of your other half.I know the silent fear that we share!! God Bless Cindy
