Yup. I remember when that happened here a few years ago. Out in the country the fields were full of 'em as far as you could see. Never seen it before or since. Conditions have to be perfect. Like John said, a once in a lifetime event. Wish I'd taken pictures.
 
Reckon someone looked at that and thought "I could do this with hay..."
 
Yeah, I thought like Lammie, they look like round bales of snow . Reminds me of the whole crop circle thing,but I reckon this is on the level .

Wow! Glad they had a camera. I never knew such things existed.
 
That's neat. Out in Death Valley they have moving rocks that leave flattened paths on some of the dry lake bed areas. They finally figured out that "probably" when there is just enough rain the surface gets slick and the wind blows the rocks across the surface.
Ol Ma Nature sure does some interesting things at time.
