How do I convert a MS Word document to a pdf file? I don't see the option under save as.

It's a feature that costs extra from adobe. The reader is free but the ability to make pdf files is licensed

Couldn't you print your word doc to pdf? You just would not be able to edit it. Maybe that is not what you are looking for...

Add a printer wizard
Local printer attached to this computer
Use the following port: FILE
Select the following printer definition:
Apple => Apple Laser Writer IINT v47.0

If you select this printer when you print, you will get a dialog box asking where to save the file. Try something simple like c:\FILENAME.ps

You can upload it to here:

http://www.ps2pdf.com/

It works dandy with open source software.
